For Itunes 32 bit and 64 bit versions are different. Not sure if this matters, but for IPAD2 the link above is for file iPad2,1_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw. The filename from an iTunes download for my Windows 7 64 bit is iPad2,3_5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw.
So not sure if this is the latest version; a 32 bit version or what, but it is not what iTunes is trying to download for me but showing 12 hours and timing out.
So while the link is great, I am reluctant to use it.
OK, so I found more info. The download for IPAD2 above is for WIFI. For 3G it is the other file I mentioned.

I have downloaded the iPad 2 iOS 5 file. How do you install it using iTunes?
I have an iphone 4, I have tried over 10 times to update my itunes. It gives me an estimated time of 28 hours then when it gets half way through, comes up with error or network connection problem or it will just fail. It is getting really frustrating now. I have stopped my kaspersky and firewalls – i dont know what else to do.
